With 10 years of experience in Montreal, our team includes 1 pilates instructor and 1 yoga instructor who are also massage therapists: Audrey & Éric. This combination gives us a better understanding of the human body as a whole. They both have in-depth knowledge of anatomy, posture and biomechanics, enabling them to tailor their massage therapy techniques to the specific needs of each individual.
Thanks to their training in Yoga and Pilates, Eric and Audrey, our 2 instructors and massage therapists, can assess your posture and body alignment, identifying muscular imbalances and excessive tension. They can then recommend targeted exercises that you can perform at home or in a group or private class.
One of the key features of Studio Équilibre's expertise lies in the ability of our 2 massage therapists to tailor each session to their clients' individual needs and preferences. They carry out a thorough initial assessment to understand each person's specific problems, pains and goals, in order to create a tailor-made treatment plan.
Massotherapy has many health benefits. Depending on technique and application, massage can provide deep relaxation or relieve pain. There are two types of massage therapy treatment: relaxation and therapeutic.
Depending on the technique, the massage may involve various maneuvers such as effleurage, kneading, friction, percussion and vibration. It can be performed with or without oil. If required, the treatment can be accompanied by essential oils, anti-inflammatory ointments, thermotherapy, hydrotherapy or wraps.
Pain relief
Massage can help reduce pain by relaxing tense muscles and stimulating the production of natural chemicals that act as analgesics.
Stress reduction
Massage can help reduce stress levels by lowering stress hormones such as cortisol and increasing the production of relaxing hormones such as oxytocin.
Improving traffic flow
Massages can help improve blood circulation by stimulating the flow of body fluids, which can help eliminate toxins and improve organ function.
Improved flexibility
Massages can help improve flexibility and range of motion by loosening tight muscles and improving blood flow to the muscles.
