Floor Barre classes in Montreal! A dynamic and rhythmic workout for warm-up and muscle strengthening."
Mat barre is a warm-up and muscle-strengthening method that takes place primarily on the floor and to music. It helps improve flexibility, posture, and body tone by focusing on deep muscles.
The class begins with a stretching session to prepare the body, followed by a series of muscle-strengthening exercises inspired by dance (ballet and modern dance). Each movement is performed with precision to target stabilizing muscles while enhancing joint mobility and coordination. In addition to strengthening the abdominals, glutes, and thighs, floor barre helps lengthen the body and improve balance.
Improves flexibility and strength
By gently engaging the muscles and joints, floor barre helps improve range of motion while reducing body tension. This regular practice contributes to a more flexible and mobile body, making everyday movements easier.
Refines the figure
By combining muscle strengthening and stretching, floor barre tones the body deeply. The exercises particularly target the leg, abdominal, and glute muscles, contributing to a slimmer and more elongated figure.
Improves postures
Mat Barre emphasizes body alignment and the strengthening of stabilizing muscles, particularly those of the back and core. By reinforcing postural muscles, it corrects imbalances and promotes a more upright and graceful posture.
Barre Fitness classes are more dynamic and cardio-focused, with standing movements that engage the entire body energetically.
Floor Barre, on the other hand, is more focused on flexibility, posture, and deep muscle strengthening, featuring slower movements performed on the floor.
