Workshop - Introductory to Yogic Breathing

Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m.

What does this workshop involve?

Immerse yourself in the age-old art of pranayama to awaken breath awareness, calm the mind and find harmony. Explore different breathing techniques to promote relaxation, concentration and vital energy. A transformative experience that will connect you to the very essence of your being.

There are many yogic breathing techniques, each with different effects on body and mind. Here are the techniques taught during this workshop: :

- Nadi Shodhana (alternate breathing): This technique involves alternating breathing between the right and left nostrils to balance energy in the body's energy channels.

- Kapalabhati (shining skull breathing): A technique consisting of a rapid series of forced exhalations followed by passive breaths, it aims to cleanse and revitalize the body by eliminating toxins.

- Kumbhaka (breath retention): A technique involving a pause between inhalation and exhalation or between exhalation and inhalation. Kumbhaka is thought to stimulate the energy channels (known as "nadis") and help balance the flow of vital energy (prana) in the body.
